Exterior and Interior
Both the interior and exterior on this 1983 Lincoln Continental Mark VI features an all-black look that many modern executive sedans do today. As the flagship model of Lincoln Continental line, the Mark VI had more ornate styling than of the others, featuring hidden headlamps, fender vents, C-pillar oval opera windows and forward-sloping taillamps; although the iconic Continental tire trunk lid remained unchanged from the fabled Mark V. Behind the elegant white wall tires are power assisted disc brakes. The black leather upholstery inside is lavishly embraced by a wooden dashboard featuring a Pioneer head unit. You also have most of the modern amenities in this 1983 car such as power adjustable front seats and powered windows and locks.
Engine
Under the hood of the 1983 Lincoln Continental Mark VI is the Ford Windsor 5.0L V8. Rear-wheel drive with body on frame construction and is fitted with coil-spring suspension on all four wheels. Paired to a 4-speed Ford AOD overdrive automatic transmission, this 5.0L V8 produced similar power to that of the 5.8L variant which was later discounted for this reason.
